Gamesday 2010

PictureGot my tickets for 2010 Gamesday in Baltimore! I'm really excited, and since I have family in Baltimore, it's going to be a much less stressful event than when I tried to get a hotel in San Diego for Comic Con the month before I left. Which, of course, will leave me a lot more stress-free time over the summer to work on a costume, instead of piecing one together the day before...

It was still undeniably awesome, though.

So I'm torn between the Eldar Farseer from Dawn of War II or a Sister of Battle. They're both pretty sweet costumes, I'm just trying to decide which one will take less time, money, and effort to make. Or possibly there's something else out there I haven't thought about yet... Any suggestions?

  1. Theam a good theam at the last Gamesday we had here in Cali a little kid beat out every one. As a Sqwig hopper not the greatest costume but he was cute.

  2. How about a commissar costume? I don't see enough women commissars out there...

  3. Perhaps a sister lost to Chaos?
    It'd be more fun!

  4. i'm going against the grain here, but you should totally do an ork costume. it would be fun. everyone kinda expects cosplayers to go for the hot option, so, yeah. XD
also, comissar costume would totall need a riding crop.^^

  5. @Dennis: Commissar is totally tempting, and @TheMighty, what's NOT to love about carrying a riding crop around a convention full of boys?

@Iosh: Interesting idea, although a lot of work sounds like. I'd have to think about some versions that wouldn't involve having to glue giant horns or tentacles to myself.

  6. I'll totally go against the grain and say you should dress up as a Necron.

My fallback vote is the Battle Sister, because the SoB were my 1st 40k army, and I'm sentimental.

  7. @#2501: I thought about that, but I just can't figure out how I would make a costume like that. I'm not scrawny enough to come close to looking like a Necron.

  8. The Commissar outfit would probably be pretty easy to do. All you need is a suitable hat, trench coat and booties. A sword would probably accent the costume as well, good luck!

  9. Well Saint Celestine is a classic, but other fun options are
    Tona Criid of Gaunt's Ghosts,
    Norn Queen (mother Tyranid),
An Inquisitor, which has tons of variations
A mystic, again, with a bunch of different takes on it
